SpotBie... awarding Loyalty Points to guests and customers.
I have multiple articles now about the journey that entailed wirting this app now. Yay! I have to say that I was pretty happy when I saw the app got approved by iOS. If you want to know what I’m talking about check here: https://spotbie.com . It isn’t yet, but I promise you it will be the biggest thing in the U.S. for 2023. If you are reading this and you own a restaurant, retail store, or if you are an event manager, read on here about how our startup can benefit your business.
Let’s start at the beginning. Initially, SpotBie was meant to be a platform for people to share posts and info. with one another. – Yawwwns – boring, sounds like another social media, yeah that’s what it was, another social media site. So, after dabbling around with what I was going to do with it, I decided to change the business model to make use of third party APIs such as Google, Yelp, and TicketMaster. In doing so, I realized that I could be getting lists of the best places to eat, retail stores, and events near me at a given time.
In came Andres Garcia, a top marketing director from the city of Bogota Colombia. His marketing expertise led us to change the business model once again. In doing so, we attained four priced products and services which we did not have before. Along with creating a new business model, we used Mr. Garcia’s skills and abilities to create a new and rich UI/UX with none other than my own help.
SpotBie is now looking for Angel Investors to help fund our marketing campaigns, software, and management expenses. If you or anyone you know are interested in helping us, please don’t hesitate to shoot us an e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org
So for anyone else who wants to know what we are talking about: SpotBie was built using the Cordova & Angular 2+ frameworks. It was a great challenge to glue these pieces together but once you are able to do so, in my experience, well the results are magnificent. You can read more about how I did this here:
SpotBie allows places to eat, retail stores, and event mangers to award loyalty points and upload custom rewards for their guests. With user client, SpotBie users are able to claim loyalty points and rewards from these places. Additionally, SpotBie also uses GPS technology to connect users to nearby places to eat, retail stores, and events. The app uses in-app paid advertising, apple sign in, google sign in, cameras, qr-scanners, native device permissions, and more. This app is available on the web, Android, and iOS. The platform has both a business platform and a platform for regular users. They both work together to form SpotBie. Look at the links below to see the apps listings:

QR Scanner - iOS Camera Permission Prompt
In order to get the QR Scanner to work we had to make a lot of changes to the swift source code file for the plugin. Initially, this plugin was not going to work for what we wanted to do. I knew I was going to have to open the Cordova plugin’s swift file and get to start learning the language. After a day or two, I was finally able to edit the source code so that iOS devices would prompt for camera and file access at the right time.
